Easter 2012 reflections

Christ is Risen, yes, Christ is risen indeed. For us Christians this is the most significant day in our Church.  Without the resurrection of Christ our whole faith would have no meaning. Jesus died on the Cross for all of us. He shed His blood for our sins. Because He shed His blood for us, we have a chance after we leave our human body to be with the Lord, yes, we  will also be with our Lord.

He brought us back into the light, by His death.

We are all born into the power of darkness.

  • Colossians 1:13, 14  He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
  • Colossians 1: 19, 20 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.

Those that crucified Christ and wanted Him dead, thought “Oh, now we will have peace and His followers will forget Him”, they did not realize that this was the beginning. He rose from the dead. He shed His burial cloth and He rose from the dead.

  • Luke 24: 1-7 Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you  seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, saying, The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.”
  • Mark 16: 14-16 Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table, and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned.

We also are commissioned to be disciples for our Lord.

Have a blessed Easter.

He is Risen, yes He is Risen, and this makes all the difference.
