Summer has just ended. We are still enjoying a beautiful fall and preparing our garden for the winter to come.
For me it is also a time to look inside. The noise from the elections will soon be over and we certainly know that our Lord is in charge. He was there at the beginning and He will be here until the end. Even Jesus looked for a quiet spot when He wanted time out with the Father.
2 Peter 3:13
“We, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.”
Just as we clean out our garden and prepare it for spring, we pull out the weeds we don’t want to show up in spring.
1 Peter 5: 6-7
“Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your cares upon Him for He cares for you.”
John 15: 4
Abide in Me.
Let us enjoy the beautiful fall before the cold of the winter.
A poem about Autumn
Fall has arrived with all off its splendor
Hundreds of shades of yellow, orange, brown, golden,
Red and some green, crown the trees around.
They build a glorious canopy all over the streets.
Even on a cloudy day
It looks like the sun is shining.
The fall flowers are all dressed up
Like they are going to a dance.
Squirrels hustling around
Getting ready for winter,
Even the bees are busy
Collecting the rest of the honey.
The chipmunks are resting on the wall
Catching the warmth of the sun,
Before the cold winter days.
There, a butterfly with her wings wide spread
Settling down right next to me.
In the morning the air so crisp,
Reminding you of the colder days to come.
There is even a special sound in the air.
You can close your eyes
And you know fall has arrived.
The smell of fresh apples at all the market stands.
The pumpkins and gourds
In their beautiful colors remind you:
Yes! Fall has arrived!
I am sitting here sipping fresh hot cider from a mug.
My thoughts go back to a beautiful summer
That just ended,
Enjoying the fall with all its splendor.
“Heaven and earth will pass away,
But my words will never pass away.
Much love to all of you, your friend Brunhilde
