Pentecost 2019 “Come Holy Spirit, come!”

This past Sunday we celebrated the coming of the Holy Spirit. Let our hearts be open so we also can be part of a transforming power and help create a more just world.

John 16:13, “When He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”

Lord, before you left your disciples you said: “After I go to the Father, the Father and I are One, He will send you the Holy Spirit and He will guide you into all truth. You will then commune with Me in Spirit, whatever you ask in My name that you will receive.

“Isaiah 30:21, “Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying; this is the way walk in it.”

Romans 15:13, “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that you may abound in hope by power of the Holy Spirit.”

Matthew 21: 20 – 22, ”If you have faith and not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ It will be done. And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

Luke 12:10, “Everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but the one who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. When they take you before synagogues and before rulers and authorities, do not worry about how or what your defense will be or about what you are to say. For the Holy Spirit will teach you at that moment what you should say.”

God called us into life because He had a purpose for us to be in the world. Just recently when I was having my quiet time and conversation with the Lord and I asked the Lord: “What is my mission in life?” Immediately I was shown a vision of the shepherd going after one sheep. This gave me much on which to contemplate. There is still a lot to do for our Lord as we sadly watch so many walking away, trying to spin their own philosophies.

Let us help make the world a better place for all of us.

The following is a poem that was on my lips as I woke up one morning when I lived through a questioning time as I took a trip to Germany going on a retreat asking the Lord for help. We can always count on the Him. He will guide us in all matters.

I Heard the Angels Sing
(by Brunhilde Luken)
As I woke up this morning, I heard the angels sing.
I knew there was no radio, the music was within.
The sound so clear, no human voice can make.
I knew it was a blessing, that God had sent.
I did not even ask for this, He freely reached a hand.
He knew what was ahead of me, a lesson to be learned.
He wanted me to know, He had a great concern.
He will walk right along with me, to guide me on this journey.
He knew I chose to walk this walk, as hard as it may be,
He knew the walk I chose to go, the choice I did not see,
I come with you I will be by your side.
I know that you can walk the walk
And take it all in stride.

Romans 8:27-28, “Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercessions for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”

May we all experience Pentecost, may the Holy Spirit strengthen us on our daily walk.

May you feel His presence.
