Reflections on Pentecost by Brunhilde Luken

Come Holy Spirit Come, Come Holy Spirit Come, Come Holy Spirit Come!

Father, Son and Holy Spirit all three but One Lord, our Lord God. He is and was and He is to come. What a Gift to all of us. What a precious Gift for us who know Him.

Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and found it empty. She was weeping and asked the presumed gardener where they have laid Him. Then she heard being called “Mary!” She turned around and immediately recognized Jesus and said; “Rabboni” (Teacher).

Do we always recognize our Lord? If all of us do, we can make the world a better place to live in.

  • Isaiah 43:1 “I have called you by name- you are mine.”
  • Hosea 2:19 “will make you mine forever.”
  • Ezekiel 36:27 “I will put my Spirit in you.”
  • Matthew 28: 20 “I will be with you always.”

Reflection of the Soul by Brunhilde Luken

After Jesus had died and risen and Mary Magdalene informed the other disciples that she saw the risen Christ, the disciples that where close by came to see the empty tomb. Later that day they all gathered together and locked the door because they where afraid.

John 20: 19-22 “Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews , Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.” And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit.”

Now Thomas was not with them at this time.

John 20: 25, 26, 27 “The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!” Then He turned to Thomas “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing. And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”

Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

John 20: 30, 31 “And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.”

We have an awesome God. He gave us the Holy Spirit. We are also left with the Greatest Book ever, The Holy Bible. Let’s go and spread the Good News into all the World. Then surely the world will become a better place for all.

“I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except by me.” John 14: 6
